While accelerating and decelerating from about 15 up to about 50 mph, I hear a faint tic-a-tic-a-tic noise from the engine, but not at idle. This might just be normal. I just got the car yesterday, it shouldn't be developing problems this soon. It has nearly 32,000 miles.

When I was your age I got my first car -a 10 year old (1997) chevrolet with 200k miles that needed a new engine and transmission......So no offense, but that's like complaining to someone who lost both their legs that you stubbed your toe.

But for what it's worth - check the color of the oil. If you can, do an oil change and see some of the used oil. If it looks like they used some of that motor honey or marvel mystery oil, bring it back to where you got it from.

I'm pretty sure that's normal for an OHV engine.. My Safari's 4.3 does ticks, as does my dad's Silverado's 5.3. I think you're just hearing valves opening and closing.

So does my uncle's 5.2 Ram and 5.4 Econoline. Problem dismissed.

The hemi tick is real. I though there was a post on oppo about the hemi tick forever ago. What Gen LX do you have?

Not an LX; a Challenger R/T.

It's an LX, LX is the platform. The Challenger, Charger, and 300 all are on the LX platform.

In that case, 1st gen (2013), if you count the refresh as a 2nd gen.

The platform is called LX. Magnum, Charger, Chally, and I think Avenger. All LX platform. What year is your RT?

Nice. I hear the second gen is a big improvement. I'd like to test drive one with the track pack.
